Belumosudil(Rezurock)

Besudil is a prescription drug targeting Rho-associated coiled-coil containing protein kinase (ROCK), which was approved by the U.S. FDA in July 2021. It must be used strictly under medical supervision.

Dosage and Administration

Route and frequency of administration for belumosudil: oral administration, once daily.

Side Effects

Common side effects: infection, fatigue or weakness, nausea, diarrhea.

Serious side effects: hepatotoxicity, hemorrhage, infection.

Use in Special Populations

Pregnancy: Pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Belumosudil may cause fetal harm. If you are of reproductive potential, your healthcare provider will perform a pregnancy test before you start treatment with belumosudil. If you become pregnant or suspect pregnancy during treatment, inform your healthcare provider immediately.

Lactation: Breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is unknown whether belumosudil is excreted in human milk. Do not breastfeed during treatment with belumosudil and for 1 week after the last dose.

Daily Precautions

1. Instruct patients to take belumosudil orally once daily with food, strictly following medical advice. Advise patients to take the tablet whole with a glass of water at approximately the same time each day; do not split, crush or chew the tablet.

2. Inform patients that if a dose of belumosudil is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible on the same day, and the regular dosing schedule should be resumed the next day. Patients must not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

3. Advise pregnant women and women of reproductive potential that this drug may pose potential risks to the fetus. Women of reproductive potential who are known or suspected to be pregnant should promptly inform their healthcare provider.
