Belumosudil tablets should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Under no circumstances should they be split, crushed, or chewed, as this may impair efficacy or cause unnecessary adverse reactions.

If a dose is missed and remembered on the same day, take it as soon as possible. Then resume the regular dosing schedule the following day at the usual time. Do not take a double or extra dose to make up for the missed one. In case of accidental overdose, contact a healthcare provider immediately or go to the nearest hospital emergency department for medical assistance to ensure safety.

Indications and Dosage of Belumosudil

Belumosudil is a prescription medicine indicated for the treatment of chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Specifically, it is intended for patients who have failed at least two prior systemic therapies.

The safety and efficacy of belumosudil in children under 12 years of age have not been established.

The recommended dosage is once daily with food, taken at approximately the same time each day to maintain stable drug concentrations in the body. This helps maximize therapeutic efficacy and reduce risks associated with inconsistent dosing.

Storage Conditions and Pre-Treatment Disclosure for Belumosudil

Proper storage is essential to maintain drug effectiveness.

Belumosudil should be stored at room temperature between 68°F and 77°F (20°C–25°C) in its original container to protect against moisture. Replace the cap tightly after each use and do not discard the desiccant packet inside the bottle.

Before starting treatment, disclose your full medical history to your doctor or pharmacist, especially any kidney or liver disorders. You must also provide a complete list of all medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements, as concomitant medications may interact with belumosudil and affect its efficacy, and vice versa.
