Semaglutide must be taken strictly according to your doctor's prescription. The recommended starting dose is one 3 mg tablet once daily for one month. After one month, the doctor will typically increase the dose to one 7 mg tablet once daily. Thereafter, depending on blood sugar control and tolerability, the doctor may further increase the dose stepwise to 14 mg, 25 mg, or 50 mg once daily. Before each dose increase, patients should be stable on the current dose for at least one month. Do not change the dose on your own, and do not take two tablets at once to achieve a higher dose. Unless specifically instructed by your doctor, always stick to one tablet per day. Only by following the prescribed dose escalation regimen can you minimize gastrointestinal discomfort while gradually achieving ideal blood sugar-lowering effects.
p> When taking Semaglutide, you must adhere to the following critical steps: First, take the tablet on an empty stomach, meaning you should fast for at least 8 hours before taking the medication (during which you may only drink a small amount of plain water). Second, swallow the tablet whole with no more than 120 mL of water. Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet, as damaging the tablet may affect the absorption of semaglutide. Third, wait at least 30 minutes after taking the tablet before eating, drinking, or taking any other oral medications. If the waiting time is less than 30 minutes, the absorption of semaglutide will be significantly reduced, thereby weakening its efficacy. This "fasting — swallow whole — wait half an hour" process is the core of achieving optimal effect with this medication; please be sure to strictly follow it. If you inadvertently wait too short a time, resume your normal dosing the next day; do not repeat the missed dose.
If you forget to take a dose of Semaglutide, skip the missed dose and take your next dose as usual the following day. Do not double the dose to make up for it. If you take an overdose, contact your doctor immediately; possible side effects include nausea, among others. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor, as your blood sugar levels may rise. If you are planning to become pregnant, you must stop taking this medication at least two months in advance and ask your doctor to switch you to an alternative treatment. If you accidentally become pregnant or are breastfeeding while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult your doctor. For best results, you need to take the medication regularly over the long term and have regular follow-up blood sugar tests. If you feel the medication is not working as expected (possibly due to individual differences in absorption), discuss this with your doctor rather than adjusting how you take it on your own.
