Uses of Ritlecitinib

The core active ingredient of Ritlecitinib is ritlecitinib. It is used to treat severe alopecia areata in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease in which the body's own immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, causing inflammation, and eventually leading to hair loss on the scalp, face, and even other parts of the body. Ritlecitinib works by limiting the activity of certain enzymes in the body called JAK3 and TEC kinases, which are involved in the inflammatory process of hair follicles. By inhibiting these enzymes, the drug reduces inflammation around the hair follicles, thereby promoting hair regrowth in patients with alopecia areata.

Absolute Contraindications for Using Ritlecitinib

You must NOT use Ritlecitinib under the following circumstances: First, if you are allergic to ritlecitinib or any other ingredients of this medication; Second, if you currently have a serious infection, including tuberculosis; Third, if you have severe liver function problems; Fourth, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. These contraindications are based on important current safety data, and strict adherence can avoid serious health risks. If you are unsure whether any of the above applies to you, be sure to consult your doctor before using the medication.

Emergency Symptoms Requiring Immediate Attention During Ritlecitinib Treatment

During your treatment with Ritlecitinib, you need to closely monitor any changes in your body. The appearance of certain symptoms means you may need to seek immediate medical help – do not wait. First, emergency signals related to infection: persistent high fever that does not subside, severe chills, difficulty breathing, coughing up blood, severe diarrhea, or intense burning pain during urination – these may indicate a serious infection. Second, warnings related to blood clots: sudden swelling, pain, redness, or warmth in one leg (possible deep vein thrombosis), or sudden chest pain, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or even coughing up blood (possible pulmonary embolism), as well as acute blurred vision, visual field defects, or sudden blindness in one eye (possible retinal vascular occlusion). Finally, nervous system or severe allergic reactions: if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, widespread hives, or worsening difficulty breathing after taking the medication, this may be a sign of a severe allergic reaction. If you encounter any of the above situations, seek immediate medical attention and inform your doctor that you are taking Ritlecitinib.
