Precautions of Filgotinib

1. Infection

If you experience fever or chills, shortness of breath, persistent coughing or fatigue, you need to inform your doctor promptly. Filgotinib can reduce the body's ability to resist infections. It may worsen existing infections or increase the risk of new infections. Patients aged 75 and above have a higher risk of infection.

2. Pulmonary tuberculosi

If you have suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis or had contact with pulmonary tuberculosis patients before, you may need to have a tuberculosis examination before and during the treatment with Jyselica.

3. Herpes zoster

Filgotinib can cause herpes zoster to recur. If you experience painful rash and blisters during Filgotinib treatment, please inform your doctor as these may be signs of shingles.

4. Hepatitis

Tell the doctor if you have ever had hepatitis B or C.

5. Cancer

If you have cancer, your doctor will decide whether you can receive Filgotinib treatment.

Skin cancer: If you are at high risk of developing skin cancer, your doctor may take preventive measures during your Filgotinib treatment, such as regular skin check ups. If you have the following conditions, please inform the doctor immediately: new marks or any changes appear in a certain area of the skin. Some patients receiving Filgotinib treatment have already developed skin cancer.

6. Pregnancy

Filgotinib may reduce the fertility of male patients or lead to infertility.

7. Vaccines

It is not recommended to receive certain types of vaccines during Filgotinib treatment. If you have recently received or are preparing to receive a vaccine, consult a doctor before Filgotinib treatment to see if treatment can begin.

8. Other diseases

If you have heart disease, hypertension, or high cholesterol, please inform your doctor before Filgotinib treatment.

9. Thrombosis

If you have previously suffered from venous or pulmonary thrombosis in your legs, please inform your doctor promptly when you experience swelling, pain, chest pain, or shortness of breath in your legs, as these may be signs of venous thrombosis.
