During treatment with asciminib, blood test results may become abnormal, which helps your doctor assess your organ function. Very common (affecting more than 1 in 10 people) abnormalities include: increased blood lipid (fat/lipid) levels (dyslipidaemia); increased pancreatic enzyme (lipase and amylase) levels; increased liver transaminases (ALT, AST, GGT) levels. Common (affecting up to 1 in 10 people) abnormalities include: increased bilirubin levels (indicating changes in liver function); increased creatine phosphokinase levels (indicating changes in muscle function); increased blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia). Your doctor will regularly arrange blood tests to monitor these parameters and adjust your treatment plan based on the results.
Keep asciminib out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the blister and the carton after “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Store below 25°C and keep in the original package to protect from moisture. While taking asciminib, in addition to taking the medicine as prescribed by your doctor, please pay attention to the following aspects: First, regarding driving and using machines – this medicine usually has no or negligible influence on these abilities. However, if you experience dizziness, blurred vision, or other side effects that may affect your reaction ability after taking the medicine, you should avoid driving or operating machines until these discomforts have completely resolved. Second, this medicine contains lactose. If you have lactose intolerance or have been told by your doctor that you cannot tolerate certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. In addition, the sodium content per tablet is extremely low (less than 23 mg), essentially “sodium-free”, so there is no need to worry about sodium intake. Finally, be sure to tell all healthcare professionals treating you (including dentists and surgeons) that you are taking asciminib, as it may interact with other medicines (such as anaesthetics, painkillers, or anticoagulants).
