Indications of Ambrisentan

Ambrisentan is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) (WHO Group 1):

To improve exercise capacity and delay clinical deterioration.

In combination with tadalafil, to reduce the risk of disease progression and hospitalization due to PAH exacerbation, and to improve exercise capacity.

Studies establishing its efficacy primarily included patients with WHO Functional Class II–III symptoms, and with etiologies of idiopathic or heritable PAH (60%) or PAH associated with connective tissue diseases (34%).
